Hello and welcome to Nursery

I am the Nursery teacher and I have been lucky enough to work at Blackshaw Lane Primary School for 3 years now.  I have a degree in Early Years Education and love working in the Foundation stage where every day is different.  I love all aspects of Early Years and I always come home from School   with a smile!

This half term in Nursery, our topic is ‘Colour My World’.  We will be exploring Bonfire Night, Remembrance day and asking questions like ‘Where do stars go in the daytime? and ‘Who are Mary and Joseph?’

In maths, we are exploring patterns, matching numeral to quantity, exploring 3d shapes and counting objects to 10 and beyond.

We will continue with our squiggle whilst you wiggle and dough disco to support our early writing skills.

P.e will continue on Monday’s and Thursdays and every week the children take part in our ‘wake up shake up’ to get our bodies moving and ‘Relax kids’ to support our emotional health and wellbeing.

We will be regularly baking lots of delicious food that will help support our maths skills, confidence, social skills and our communication.  Look out for anything your child may bring home!

Please continue to do your child’s homework and also take one of our story bags to read at home to support your child’s early reading skills.

Thank you

Miss Cody
